Today’s Macro Tips:
Ordering a bowl instead of a burrito and going light on rice can cut a loaded order roughly in half.
Air-fried fries with 1 tsp of oil come in around 200 calories.
Trim 150 calories on weekdays to make room for a weekend party.
The 1,000-Calorie Burrito Bowl Trap
Burrito spots feel healthy: grilled chicken, beans, veggies. But load everything on and it adds up fast. Approximate numbers for a typical loaded order at a big burrito chain:
Flour burrito tortilla: ~300
White rice: ~210
Chicken: ~180
Black beans: ~130
Cheese: ~110
Sour cream: ~110
Guacamole: ~230
That’s about 1,270 calories. Before the chips.
The fix: Go bowl instead of burrito, ask for half rice, keep the chicken and beans, add fajita veggies and salsa, and skip the cheese and sour cream. That lands under 500 calories with 40g+ of protein. Want guac? Add it and you’re still around 700. Check the restaurant’s online nutrition calculator before you go. Most big chains have one.

Air Fryer Fries That Fit A Cut
A medium order of fast-food fries is usually 300+ calories, mostly from the oil they’re fried in. Make your own instead: cut a 200g russet potato (about one medium) into sticks, toss with 1 tsp olive oil and salt, and air-fry at 400°F for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway.
That’s about 200 calories for a whole potato’s worth of fries. Weigh the potato raw and log it raw.
Party Weekend? Bank Your Calories.
Your body doesn’t reset at midnight. For fat loss, what matters is your average over the week.
🎁 CHEAT CODE: Trim 150 calories a day Monday through Friday, and you’ve banked 750 extra calories for Saturday with the same weekly total. At the party, walk the whole spread before you grab a plate. Fill half your plate with protein and half with veggies first, then step away from the table.
